The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued a provisional approval for BacterOMIC’s patent application titled ‘Method and System for Ultra-Fast Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing’. According to standard procedures, the final grant of the patent is contingent upon the payment of the necessary fees.
Once the above conditions are met, BacterOMIC will secure exclusive commercial rights to use its ultra-fast method for determining drug resistance in microorganisms. This method is among those that can be implemented in the BacterOMIC system. The scope of exclusivity applies to the system employing this method, as well as to its application in phenotypic drug resistance assays.
Bacteromic is actively pursuing the acquisition of patent rights for this innovative solution in other key markets, including China.
