Scope Fluidics, a life sciences company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and specializing in breakthrough technologies for medical diagnostics and healthcare, is launching a pilot Fellowship Program for Young Scientists. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to develop innovative ideas in medical technology and biotechnology. Participants will take part in a modern mentoring program led by experienced scientists and business experts. The most promising projects will advance to the Proof of Concept stage, with budgets of up to PLN 1 million.
“At Scope Discovery, we create space for scientists, engineers, rebels, and dreamers with an entrepreneurial mindset. We provide a framework that enables the rapid translation of ideas into products that can improve and transform healthcare. We invite bold scientists to join us on this collaborative journey and adventure, where the reward may be the opportunity to develop and lead a project that culminates in implementation and market entry,” said Professor Piotr Garstecki, CEO of Scope Fluidics Group.
The Scope Fluidics Fellowship is aimed at PhD candidates in the final stages of their doctoral studies, as well as recent PhD graduates (postdocs). Over the course of a 12-week internship, participants will work with the Scope Fluidics team to develop a novel innovation concept in medical technologies from the ground up. The program is open to researchers in fields such as biology, biotechnology, chemistry, physics, medicine, and engineering. It offers a chance to apply scientific knowledge and creativity to develop product ideas that address real needs of the market and patients.
Mentoring and Financial Support: Key Elements of the Program
Throughout the program, participants will learn methods for rapid ideation and testing. They will gain skills in validating hypotheses through customer needs assessment and acquire practical experience in market analysis, strategic planning, commercialization, and go-to-market execution. They will also learn to develop revenue models and pricing strategies. Scope Fluidics will provide support from experienced mentors and thought leaders across a range of scientific and business disciplines.
At the end of the program, participants will present their ideas. Selected projects will proceed to the next stage – the Proof of Concept phase, with budgets of up to PLN 1 million.
Scope Fluidics may also establish a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) to implement selected projects. Program participants will receive a fixed salary and research budgets to support effective development from idea to prototype.
“Business has the power to bring innovation to market, turning knowledge into real-world products and services. Participating in the Scope Fluidics Fellowship is a unique opportunity for young scientists to apply their expertise and creativity. For three months, they will work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary venture studio environment, learning how to combine scientific thinking with business practice,” said Tomasz Kosiński, Head of Scope Discovery at Scope Fluidics Group.
Applications are open until May 16.
